Jon Davis live drawing
This is an image drawn on April 26, at Jon Davis‘ LP release party @ the Rivoli. For the release of his sophomore album Open Shores, the Montreal native gave the crowd an intimate performance- which provided a lot of rich backstory & context to the musician’s music. I was particularly touched by the inspiration of the song “King of Aylmer Street”, which Jon wrote to encourage a homeless friend after seeing him in a particularly bad place.
The drawing will be included in a series of live drawings & indie music related drawings I will have on display at the NXNE Art Fair, June 15th & 16th @ the Ryerson Quad.
