the scream self portrait
a little drawing inspired by “The Scream” by Edvard Munch. I was taking some selfies with my hair covering my eyes, when I decided I could improve (read make weirder) the shots by screaming into the camera. I really like the idea of the scream in art because there’s something so primal and universal about this particular utterance. it is the sound a baby makes after seeing the world for the first time after their birth, when they realize that the world is terrible. this terrible realization is the loss of innocence.
this isn’t the last you’ve seen of the scream. I’d like to rework this with different colours, (I was somewhat limited because some of my markers are starting to die).
