EHAB double feature: Kazoo Fest, & Blood Ceremony @ Trash Palace #Iwanttodrawyourband

Kazoo Fest April 9-13, 2014

Earlier this month I had the pleasure of going to Guelph for Kazoo Fest. Now in its 7th year, this festival just keeps getting better and better. The fest featured five days of amazing music and local favourites- with a line-up that including Vag Halen, Legato Viper, Petra Glynt, and Diana. There were lots of other things at Kazoo fest to get excited about besides music. The fest’s program included art exhibits, film screenings, a print expo- and to close off the festival a pancake breakfast show. It was such a nice festival- with performances spread across the Guelph downtown, and taking advantage  of the different atmospheres of each of those venues. I will definitely be making my way back next year.

Blood Ceremony @ Trash Palace April 19, 2014

Black magic has risen at Toronto’s Trash Palace. Tucked away in a basement on Niagara St., Trash Palace is a haven for buffs of obscure and forgotten16mm films. On Saturday April 19th, local witch metal band Blood Ceremony held a show at the underground cinema- followed by a movie screening as a send off for their upcoming European tour. It was amazing to see this band up close and see them work that black magic, (and let’s be honest geek out at the flute solos too).
